KSS Adult Critical Care Network: March 2026 Newsletter Now Available

This latest issue highlights a wide range of activities that reflect the dedication, innovation, and expertise of our multidisciplinary teams. From updates on major regional conferences to insights from network‑wide surveys and pioneering improvement initiatives, the newsletter captures both the operational and strategic work shaping critical care services across KSS.

Readers will find detailed features on the EKHUFT Critical Care Conference 2026, the launch of the third edition of GPICS, and educational developments including expanded access to the Thames Valley & Wessex Adult Critical Care Course. The edition also spotlights new clinical pathways, such as the integration of TTP and TMA cases into the London Critical Care Transfer Pathway, and showcases progress in safety and learning through the Network’s ongoing Serious Incident Sharing Programme.

We are also proud to celebrate outstanding leadership within our community, including the recognition of Matron Claire Fowler, awarded a prestigious Cavell Star for her exemplary contribution to patient care and team development.

A major highlight of this issue is the Watersafe Project, a transformative sustainability initiative at Wexham Park Hospital. The project demonstrates how bold, evidence‑driven redesign can enhance infection control, reduce environmental impact, and deliver significant cost savings offering a model for future service improvement across the region.

In addition to these in‑depth features, the newsletter provides summaries of upcoming meetings, training opportunities, national congresses, and calls for participation in important surveys shaping future clinical guidance.

We encourage all colleagues to explore this edition and share it widely within your teams. Your engagement ensures that learning, innovation, and excellence continue to flourish across our network.

The newsletter also welcomes contributions. If your unit has a project, achievement, or initiative you would like to share in future editions, we invite you to submit content for consideration.
