Pharmacist Groups
Critical care Pharmacists are a part of the multi-disciplinary team in the ICU optimising medication therapy and improving outcomes for critically ill patients. They support the development and strengthening of critical care pharmaceutical services, professional standards and engagement of critical care pharmacists
The critical care Pharmacy subgroup meets bimonthly to discuss on service provision for Pharmacists in various units under the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Adult Critical Care Operational Delivery Network. Furthermore, they
act as an initial reference point and source of advisory expertise to collaboratively inform Health education England and NHS England initiatives and programme, furthermore providing advice and insight around delivery of care by Pharmacists
The group shares expertise, knowledge, insight and discuss best practices to enable standards to be effectively developed and implemented in critical care areas. This will help ensure that Critical care Pharmacy services provided in the Network are reflective of the needs and view of the people who use them.
The group discuss educational opportunities to members to support them in their ongoing professional development
The group represent the views of Pharmacists working in Adult Critical Care areas in units in the Network
